Today, the local elections in the states of #BadenWürttemberg and #RhinelandPalatinate in the southern Republic of #Germany 🇩🇪 ended with a clear victory for the Green Party and a historic loss for the ruling CDU (the party of the German Chancellor Mrs. #Angela_Merkel) What are the reasons that made the ruling party in this situation, and what was the form of the loss?! Did the election result present anything new?! And what will these elections present for the coming fall season for the chair of the German Chancellery?!,
▶️ In fact, the local elections were unprecedented elections. Why do we say it's unprecedented elections even though they were a repeat of what was already in place?! At the level of results ranking, the funds didn't provide anything new, but the new ratios presented a new mentality of the German voter As the state elections in Baden-Württemberg resulted in a successive victory for the Green Party since the last elections with an increase of 1.2% of the vote, the importance of this state is formed as a stronghold of the two most important car manufacturers in Germany and the world, namely Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, which means strengthening the shift to green policy in the coming period The important thing here is that the ruling party lost more than 4% of the vote in the last election, and with the center-left party retreating, a coalition of the Center-Right and Center-Left would be possible
As for the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, it presented the victory of the center-left with a loss that exceeded the barrier of 2% from the last election, and kept the ruling party again with a record loss of more than 6%, with the Greens winning more than 4%, which means that the Greens are entitled to celebrate a historic victory since the party’s inception more than three decades ago
Noting that the radical right has significantly and importantly lost the upcoming political map,
▶️ The reasons for losing the ruling party and renewing confidence in the Greens?!
First: The German people have recently become almost convinced that Mrs. Merkel's administration was not good at managing the file of dealing with the Covid-19 crisis, and for several months, people have been demonstrating in protest against the restrictions imposed on society in addition to challenging the government in the process of distributing vaccines, which appears to be It faltered in the procurement and vaccination process, which made the confidence between the ruling party and the 11 million citizens allowed to vote in the two states shaky, while the ruling party tried to restore confidence, especially after the election of a new party leader, even though the party’s economic management was not bad compared to its European and international surroundings
Second: The elections due to the restrictions of Corona took a postal form with the imposition of restrictions on traditional polling stations, but why do we say that voting by mail was a double loss for the ruling party ?! Because of the virus, party gatherings were prevented, and this is what imposed electronic campaigns, and this is harmful to the ruling party, which used to face gathering with a heavy presence of the Green Party and the Liberal Democrats, which mostly consist of relatively young age groups, which means that this electronic presence made the youth groups and due to the restrictions imposed more inclined to renewal For the greens in the state of Baden-Württemberg and to increase the proportion of their seats in the Rhineland-Palatinate
Third: A financial scandal The financial scandal took on significance by returning to mind the scandal of the black bag or black money schwarz geld, which toppled one of the historical German leaders of the party and Germany, Mr. #Helmut_Kohl, the scandal was the involvement of a member of parliament of the ruling party on suspicion of mediating in masks deals in addition to Suspicious deals in #Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 What prompted the party to dismiss those involved, and yet this did not intercede for the ruling party,
What did the current elections present for the elections to be held this fall for the chancellery chair?!
In previous analytical articles, I mentioned that Armin Laschet who got elected as the new leader of the party will have to present something new to tempt the party's rules to nominate him for the upcoming German chancellery elections, and with the current financial scandal and with a resounding loss in the two states' elections, it seems that Mr. Lachit's fortunes are diminishing in the interest of the President of the State of Bavaria, Mr. Markus Söder and this is what I explained in previous articles I will put it in the comments.
